Food Packaging Project Pack
This project pack contains three food packaging templates for A pizza box, a cupcake box and a triangle chocolate bar
These sheets provide a net for development for students to create three small functional food packaging items. This can be used as part of a Design and Technology Graphics or a Food lesson. Each sheet is A3 size and can be copied onto white card, this gives a good size to actually hold a Single Cupcake or mini pizza with the completed packaging.
We have used this in a multi part food lesson in which students can design and make a package and a food product. The sheet gives details of the relevant food packaging information requirements. I have also included in this pack an exemplar pizza box as featured in the Youtube clip.
There is a Youtube Clip On my channel “ Mr Ridley Design and Technology” showing how to assemble the Cupcake and pizza boxes. Using a Youtube clip this could be used as a cover or home learning task.

Standard components for GCSE D&T
This sheet covers the use of standard components for GCSE Design and Technology . It is supported by a 5 minute YouTube clip. the clip explains standard components an their use . Was created for AQA D&T but standard components feature in the other D&T Specifications also. Youtube clip mentions slowing of globaliation post covid. this may also be used for AS product Design.

Environmental Impact of Products A Level Product Design
This resource consists of three A3 sheets for A level Product Design One sheet has two A level Product design type questions that relate to environmental impact and consumer choice. the two other sheets are full mark schemes for the two questions This type of questions may feature in papers because these issues are currently very topical . Q2 also relates to the properties of two materials (Bamboo and polypropylene ), It is possible that these type of questions may feature in both Product Design exams. The questions also relate to more sustainable products offered by high street retailers.

The properties of Metals for GCSE
This resource covers GCSE type questions around the subject of the properties of metals
These Metal properties questions are featured in GCSE Design and Technology, Product Design and GCSE Engineering papers, so these worksheets would be suitable for students sitting any one of these. As usual my worksheets are supported by YouTube clips. I have included a question walkthrough for some of the main questions, these walkthroughs allow students to follow a structured approach to dealing with these type of questions. I have also linked a clips describing the main properties of metals

KD fittings and Knock down Furniture for GCSE Design and Technology . An A3 worksheet covering this subject and an A5 learning review sheet. This is linked to two 5 minute YouTube clip on my Channel Mr Ridley’s Design and Technology, one clip covers the worksheet and the other covers the learning review.
This is for KS4 GCSE D&T. It could also be used as an introduction to the subject for KS5 product Design students.

An A3 sheet containing GCSE style questions relating to the design of products. These questions relate to processes of manufacturing materials and ergonomic design. This sheet is supported by a YouTube walkthrough and also a clip relating to ergonomics of barbeque tools.
This can be used a a part of a GCSE D&T lesson

Create a Scary Space Monster
An A3 worksheet on the topic of computer game design. This sheet would support a lesson in Design and Technology or Art subject areas. This would make an ideal lesson as part of a computer game design project, or as a standalone or cover lesson. The object of the lesson is to design a monster character for a space themed computer game. The student’s are prompted on the sheet to consider the features of the monster that will make the game more interesting and enjoyable to play. There is also a link on the sheet to possible career paths for game design included in the sheet which could promote classroom discussion or be utilised prior to the end of KS3 options.

Industrial production for A level Product Design
A set of seven A4 sheets that cover industrial production, lean manufacturing, and just in time manufacturing. These comprise a mix of exam type questions and scaffolding for note taking. I created these to work with the clips on my Youtube channel. This resource can be used in a Product design lesson in the classroom. Alternatively they could be set as home learning to consolidate the knowledge by providing the students with sheets and embedding the clips from Youtube into a Google classroom.

Specialist Design and Technology Equipment Exam questions for GCSE D&T and Product Design.
Specialist Design and Technology Equipment is a common theme for examiners in GCSE D&T and Product Design and the equipment featured in these questions are often featured in past papers.
Here’s a chance to cover these three pieces of equipment in enough detail to enable students to tackle such questions.
This consists of two A3 sheets one is a question sheet and the second contains marking guidance for each of the questions. This then enables students to complete the question and then ideally peer mark the response. These sheets would be ideal for a stand alone GCSE revision or as cover work.

These are intended to be used to support practical disassembly of existing products. These might be used as part of a product design lesson or to direct students who are completing their NEA ``practical investigations’ ’ these sheets would enable such students to maximise the marks avalble in section A of the NEA coursework.

GCSE D&T Exam Questions Detergent Pod Storage
An set of teaching materials for a complete lesson that investigate the function and sustainability of packaging by making comparisons between two different types of packaging available for clothes washing pods. the sheets contain GCSE style questions relating to the properties of materials and sustainability.
This sheet is supported by a YouTube walkthrough of questions and also a clip explaining the packaging of detergent pods. the main sheet is supplied in A3 or A4 format. there is an additional learning check sheet with two sheets on an A4 sheet, which can be used to check unterstaning the following lesson.

Ergonomics for GCSE D&T
Worksheets and a learning checklist for GCSE Design and Technology. I created these sheets to cover primarily Ergonomics and Anthropometrics, but they also cover the materials and construction and sustainability of the products featured. There are three accompanying YouTube Clips that cover ergonomics, materials and construction of toothbrushes and bbq tools. An A5 learning checklist is also included for revisiting the subject. Suitable for all GCSE Design and Technology specifications.

A pack of resources covering Ergonomics and Anthropometrics for GCSE Design & Technology. This consists of two A3 worksheets and an A5 learning check which can be completed later to check and consolidate learning. The worksheets are supported by two clips on my Youtube channel which show the important Ergonomic features of two example Products toothbrushes and Barbeque tools. These sheets could be used as a two lesson mini project to introduce Ergonomics and Anthropometrics for GCSE. Some tasks on the sheet could be set as Home learning if supported by one of the YouTube Clips.

Plastics Properties of Polymers
Three A3 sheets that covers most aspects of plastics for GCSE Design and Technology. These would also be suitable for GCSE engineering or product design students. These sheets comprise mostly of GCSE style questions and are supported by dedicated clips on my YouTube channel “Mr Ridley’s Design and Technology”. These may also be useful for A level product design students to enable them to revisit the subject of plastics. These sheets would also be useful if you wished to compile your own bespoke exam paper for these subject areas.

A set of dedicated learning mats to use in GCSE Design and Technology lessons. These are five subject focused A3 sheets that can be used to enable students to complete question sheets in the relevant areas. This can also be used as a set of support materials as information sheets to enable students to complete GCSE NEA sheets around choosing materials and completing parts lists for their NEA folio.

Standard Components for GCSE D&T
This resource contains everything that you need to deliver a lesson on longer form D&T questions. This question is about standard forms of materials. This would make a great resource for GCSE D&T or Engineering revision sessions.
I usually use two lessons on this set of resources, the first lesson to cover subject knowledge and the second lesson to tackle the long form exam question, this includes peer marking using the supplied mark scheme.

Sustainability and the 6 R’s
This is a handy revision pack for GCSE design and Technology allowing your students to revise the six R’s of sustainability. The pack consists of an A3 information sheet (learning mat), a sheet containing GCSE design and technology type questions about sustainable products and a student useable mark scheme sheet with a set of exemplar answers. In addition there is an A4 learning check sheet. All of these sheets are intended to complement and to be used in conjunction with the clip on the six R’s on my You tube channel.

Sustainability and the six R’s is a favorite of theme of all of the exam boards for inclusion in the GCSE Design and technology exam, that is included in papers every year, this subject also often features in the longer form questions in these papers. I have put together a bumper revision pack to support your students with their GCSE Design and Technology Revision. These consists of seven separate sheets which are supported by two dedicated Youtube Clips which are available to access on my Youtube channel Mr Ridley’s Design and Technology.
